The brutal sand of Southwick bit a few riders today, but Kawasaki’s Ricky Carmichael came out on top in the 250 class. Posting 5/1 moto scores (he crashed twice in the first moto), Carmichael took the overall with Honda’s Sebastien Tortelli (1/5) second and Suzuki’s Robbie Reynard (2/4) third.

In the 125 class, Travis Pastrana dominated (1/1) to take his first Outdoor National overall victory ahead of Yamaha’s Stephane Roncada (2/4) and Honda’s Steve Lamson (4/3).

Tortelli sits atop the 250 points chase, with teammate Kevin Windham, Carmichael and Vuillemin in close pursuit.

Meanwhile, Lamson has a one point lead over Roncada in 125 points, with Kawasaki’s Tallon Vohland and Pastrana close behind.
