Changing and exceedingly difficult weather conditions played havoc with racing at Silverstone earlier today. 19-year-old rookie Loris Baz (Kawasaki) won Race 1 ahead of Michel Fabrizio (BMW) and Ayrton Badovini (BMW), finishing second and third, respectively. The second race was shortened to 8 laps as the result of a torrential downpour. Half points were awarded as Sylvain Guintoli (Ducati) took the win ahead of Baz in second and Jakub Smrz (Ducati) in third.
Max Biaggi (Aprilia), despite a disastrous day, continues to hold the series points lead. For additional details, results and points, visit the official WSB site.
Both those races had the nastiest MC road race accidents I can remember ever seeing !! Couldn’t believe Johnny Rea raced again in the 2nd race. 8^ 0
