Okay, so I’ve got this great 2002 RM250 for sale, right? It has all the greatest stuff on it – stuff you’d expect a motojournalist to have on his personal bike, right? It’s even priced relatively cheap, but it won’t sell!
I checked with the local dealer to see if anyone is buying two-stroke motocross bikes, anymore. He says “no, not really”. Not a big surprise.
So, the point is this: now that every major manufacturer is offering trick, four-stroke motocross bikes, consumers are passing over the two-strokes. Some two-strokes are still selling, of course, and some people still like two-strokes over four-strokes (I know a few myself). So, maybe the real death of two-stroke motocross bikes will come in the form of poor sales on dealers’ showroom floors, and not government regulations limiting emissions.
Anyone looking for a clean 2002 Suzuki RM250, cheap?
