You may recall that Honda generously donated a special CBR1000RR to the newly formed Marco Simoncelli Foundation shortly after the late rider’s parents formed the charitable organization.
The bike was auctioned on Ebay recently for the benefit of the charity, and guess who won…paying more thanĀ 50,000 Euro (roughly $65,000)? The head of Dorna, Carmelo Ezpeleta, who then upped the price voluntarily to 58,000 Euro, and promptly gave the bike to Marco’s parents. Beautiful and generous gesture.
Well done, Mr. Ezpeleta. Sic is truly missed.
Bravo Carmelo!
A rare gesture these days. Kudos to Mr. Ezpeleta!!
Cool and generous move on his part.Congrats Mr Ezpeleta.(Still don’t like the CRT’s in moto GP though.)
