Several European publications have been reporting that Honda is developing a V5-engined 1200cc sports tourer as a replacement for the CBR1100XX Blackbird, to go on sale in 2006. The bike might be called a VFR1200, and it will supposedly feature MotoGP-inspired aerodynamic design.
Rumors say the bike may be the first production model to exceed 200 hp, and if it is marketed as a VFR it would likely receive Honda’s next generation of safety features. Honda currently produces bikes with linked brakes and ABS, and there is some speculation that this next-generation “Super VFR” might feature a full traction-control system.
