In what may well be the first time in AMA outdoor motocross history, French riders won both the 250 and 125 classes today at the Red Bud AMA Outdoor National Championship motocross races.

Perhaps still stinging from the aggressive block pass Kawasaki’s Ricky Carmichael placed on him at the last round, Honda’s Sebastien Tortelli was on fire today — winning both motos in convincing style. Carmichael finished second overall (2/3), with Honda’s Kevin Windham third (4/2).

In the 125 class, Yamaha’s Stephane Roncada (like Tortelli, also from France) dominated both motos and increased his points lead in the championship race. Finishing second overall was Suzuki’s Travis Pastrana (6/2), with Honda’s Steve Lamson third (5/4).

While Roncada leads the 125 points race, his countryman Sebastien Tortelli leads with a slim, four point lead over Ricky Carmichael in the 250 points race.
