Cagiva and MV Agusta Display New Bikes at Intermot

MV Agusta F4 1000 Tamburini

Cagiva and MV Agusta have announced the lineup of new and revised models which they will display at this week’s Intermot show in Munich. The MV Agusta line is headed by the limited-production F4 1000 Tamburini, while Cagiva has announced some changes to it’s Raptor naked bike.

MV Agusta has created the F4 1000 Tamburini as the top-of-the-line version of the new-for-2005 F4 1000. Showcasing the company’s technical and engineering prowess, the Tamburini features a variable length intake tract (called the Torque Shift System, or TSS), which combines with hand-polished intake ports and reprofiled camshafts to give a claimed 173hp, up from the 166hp of the standard 1000S. More technical wizardry is found in the form of the EBS (Engine Brake System), which uses electronic engine controls to reduce rear wheel hop under deceleration. The Tamburini also features forged aluminum wheels, carbon-fiber bodywork, one-piece brake calipers, and a more advanced rear shock than the standard bike.

Cagiva has updated the Raptor for 2005 with a redesigned instrument cowl based on last year’s X3 concept bike, as well as revised ergonomics and new color schemes. Both the Raptor 650 and Raptor 1000 will receive these changes.
