Now that Valentino Rossi has succeeded in bringing the MotoGP championship to Yamaha, it plans to win the manufacturer’s championship (easily won by Honda, this year).
As part of that effort, Yamaha has hired Colin Edwards to ride as a teammate of Rossi’s next year. A brilliant move, in our opinion.
We have said before that success in MotoGP is part technological prowess and part rider development skill. In other words, all of the technology in the world can’t help you without accurate rider feedback.
Now that Yamaha has Edwards, it arguably has the best development rider on the planet (Rossi) and the second best (Edwards). In other words, it has a huge advantage going into the 2005 MotoGP season.
