Mike LaRocco On A Four-Stroke? Honda Might Do It

Another tidbit for those of you hungry for information on Honda’s four-stroke motocrosser. I read an internet post this morning from a respected tuner indicating that HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) representatives indicate Mike LaRocco will debut the Honda 500cc four-stroke motocross machine at the opening round of the the AMA Outdoor National series this May. The race is in San Bernardino, California.

LaRocco would be a good choice for a couple of reasons. First of all, LaRocco is known for being in good shape, and can hang on to a 500cc powerhouse and go fast for a full moto. You may recall that LaRocco won the last 500cc AMA Outdoor National championship (on a two-stroke), so he can definitely handle the power output of this new bike.

LaRocco is also notorious for bad starts. Maybe Mike can get a few holeshots on a 500cc thumper. I’m betting he can get lots of holeshots.

If this latest rumor is true, it’s going to be a very interesting AMA Outdoor series.
