At the ages of 23, 22 and 21, Nicky Hayden (Honda), Marco Melandri (Honda) and John Hopkins (Suzuki) posted the three fastest lap times on the final day of MotoGP testing at Jerez today. Hayden and Hopkins were consistently quick throughout the test.
Four manufacturers were represented in the five quickest today (which also included Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi and Ducati’s Loris Capirossi). When the season starts in a couple of weeks, we could see some new faces on the podium. Hopkins was particularly impressive, and consistently much quicker than his teammate Kenny Roberts (a former World champ).
