Edwards and Haga Victorious at Assen WSB

In conditions divergent as night and day, Honda’s Colin Edwards won a wet race one, while Yamaha’s Noriyuki Haga won a dry race two at Assen today.

Race one saw Edwards slowly build a substantial lead over second place finisher Juan Borja (Ducati) and third place Haga.

The dry track brought Haga alive in race two, as he stormed to a convincing victory following the crash of Ducati’s Troy Bayliss. Kawasaki’s Akira Yanagawa finished second in race two, just ahead of Borja.

With just two rounds and four races remaining in the championship, Edwards has a 20 point lead over Haga, who, in turn is 18 points ahead of third place Troy Corser (Aprilia).
