It has been widely reported that 17-year-old Davi Millsaps will complete his two year contract with Suzuki at the end of this season and move to Team Honda in 2006 for the first year of a two-year relationship. With Millsaps’ less than mediocre showing outdoors this year, there is one significant reason Honda wants Millsaps. Supercross.
Although Millsaps finished third this year in the Eastern Region AMA 125 Supercross series, he won two races and finished second three times. More importantly, he was the fastest rider on the track more often than not, and is considered to have more potential to reach elite status in 250 supercross, the most prestiguous AMA series and the most coveted championship by manufacturers, than any other rider in his age group.
