Just back from the Kawasaki Dealers’ Show in Orlando, Florida. Aside from the new Vulcan 900 Classic and the beastly ZX-14, Kawasaki indicated that the rush of new models will continue for the next few years. Among other things, Kawasaki intends to develop all of its own bikes to take up market niches occupied by Suzuki products currently shared under their alliance agreement.
What a difference from just four years ago, when many industry observers thought Kawasaki was hopelessly behind in new product development. Kawasaki now has to be considered one of the leaders in new model development — turning around its sport bike designs in two years, for instance.
