Ivan Tedesco is one of those guys you don’t pay a lot of attention to, despite his success. He is not outspoken, controversial, or flashy. When you think about AMA supercross for 2006, Tedesco may not even cross your mind. He should. The two-time 125 Supercross champ found a way to win the 2005 125 Outdoor National championship on his Pro Circuit Kawasaki. Known as a supercross specialist before 2005, Tedesco found a way to raise his game dramatically outdoors.
As Ricky Carmichael’s teammate at Suzuki in 2006, Tedesco has another opportunity to keep a low profile. Moving to the big bike class, however, Tedesco has a chance to surprise everyone by running with the “top dogs” who have been getting all the attention and pre-series hype.
Given the consistent, upward trajectory Tedesco’s career has taken, we expect an impressive rookie year in supercross for him, and more than a few podiums.
