Donington Park WSB Results

Kawasaki’s Tom Sykes won both races at Donington Park yesterday during Round 5 of the WSB championship series. Sykes domninated the weekend, particularly during Race 2 where he had a very sizable gap over the competition at the  checkered flag. In Race 1, Marco Melandri (BMW) and Sylvain Guintoli (Aprilia) followed Sykes home in second and third place, respectively.  Guintoli moved up to second place in Race 2 with Eugene Laverty (Aprilla) finishing third.

Guintolli has a narrow points lead in the championship over Sykes.  For additional details, results and points, visit the official WSB site here.

Great racing at a great circuit. Despite Syke’s dominance, the other races behind him were entertaining.
I have to say that finally the DVR worked and I even had coverage of Superpole, which was great. There were commercials when nothing was happening, but the races went start to finish with no commercial breaks, which was refreshing. and in supersport watching Lowes dominate was impressive. Haven’t seen that type of victory on the 600’s since Crutchlow in 2009.

I think the lack of comments is due to most people missing the article. You still have the Triumph Tiger and Honda CB1100 taking up the most real estate at the top. Makes people think there haven’t been new stories posted since that.

Decent race, though not as good as last year. Sykes obliterated them all.

Great thing about Donington, I was still entertained despite no one challenging Sykes for the lead. Just watching the bikes flow through the circuit was blissful enough. Contrast that with insipid new tracks like COTA, where even the Moto2 race felt sterile to me despite the bashing and shoving.

Guinters made an absolutely scary move on Laverty to take 2nd place in Race 2. Nutters.
    Bring on Portimao.

I think the lack of comments may be due to the fact that most people lost their WSBK coverage on Speed, and don’t have BeIn sports. I know it’s killing me… And I actually liked the COTA MotoGP race (didn’t see Moto2). I certainly liked it better than the WSBK Donington race that I didn’t actually get to see!

“beinsport.tv” has been has been showing the races streaming, during the races. Decent coverage almost extensive. Their site has a tv guide that lets you know when the races will air (so far, knock on wood). My cable provider used to offer beIN Sport free…

Even on a Motorcycle site few have much interest… in this Country.

Sykes tore em up, good for him, not so much for the sport.
