Ben Townley Back Training With Two Months Before Nationals

Former MX2 World champion Ben Townley reports on his web site that he is recovering nicely from the serious knee injury he suffered in January of this year. Townley will miss the entire AMA Supercross series as a result of this injury, but hopes to contest the AMA Motocross championship series beginning in May.

According to a recent post on Townley’s site, he has been given the green light by his doctor to train his lower body, but he will not be riding as of yet. Townley also indicates that he has most of the range of motion back in his knee.

Aside from his World championship, Townley impressed the world with his speed at the Motocross des Nations last year where he was the fastest rider on the track not named Ricky Carmichael. His Pro Circuit Kawasaki Team here in the U.S. has high hopes for Townley’s success in the Motocross Lites Division (250cc four-strokes).
