Suzuki has been releasing a series of videos regarding its MotoGP development efforts. It plans to race in the 2015 series. This is the third video, but the first one we found interesting enough to post. It is a reminder of how competitive Randy de Puniet has been on the development bike when he has tested. It really makes me wonder why Suzuki isn’t coming back in 2014, rather than waiting yet another year. If you want to see the other videos, click over to the YouTube version of the video embedded below and you will find yourself at the Suzuki Racing YouTube page.
What are they waiting for?
Sponsors. Hence all the videos.
The bike does look amazing. Now if only some of those good looks and livery would make it into something we could purchase the racing might pay for itself.
Even if they never win a race (the likely situation) it will still be nice to have a different bike on the grid. Other than the 2007 anomoly, no other manufactorer has won besides Yamaha and Honda since KRJR. Irregardless, it was nice once in a while to see a Suzuki in the mix and on podiums at times (Hopper with the 4th place in the final standings in 2007) I’m going to be watching with guarded optimism, without any true expectations that they take the MotoGP world by storm.
That bike looks georgous!
Real shame they’re not in 2014, with Spies on board.
Maybe they’re waiting for Spies’ shoulders to heal. Back in good health he’d be a natural choice for sure.
Man that would be sweet! Sadly I think Spies is really done. I’m just glad Edwards is still around.
what, no love for young saint nick…? it ain’t where you’re from, it’s where you’re at. 🙂
rumors from those with “semi-inside” information, is they would like to see Spies and Hayden on the team in 2015…?
That would suck for RDP but good for USA marketing…
Interesting to note that the Suzy GP bike has an inline 4 engine configuration. And from the sound of it, I’d guess it’s similar to Yammy’s crossplane. I wonder if crossplane are cheaper to develop than competitive V4s.
re: “I wonder if crossplane are cheaper to develop than competitive V4s.”
only if it they were paying the tuning fork to build it for them. many may not realize, kawi’s zed-RR was a crossplane for it’s last 2 or 3 seasons before they cancelled Christmas.
Should be cheaper to built given it has half as many heads and valve-trains (and less of the other complexities that come along with them). Yamaha has proved it works to provide the drive characteristics of a V-4 and have also made the I-4 width work on a GP bike.
re: “it has half as many heads and valve-trains”
running costs. just hope they don’t have 2x as many blow ups…? sadly, replacing “spent grenades” can make for a wash.
re: “Yamaha has proved it works”
Yamaha was smart enough to hire a young Masao Furusawa for part-time stockroom while he studied at the University.
If dePruniet is their rider they don’t have to worry about hand grenaded engines, they will have to worry about wadded up frames and body parts.
He said what we’re all thinking!
NATCORK (No Amount of Talent Can Overcome Recalcitrant Kit). this is law by the way.
in the grand pri… errr grand “scheme”, the outcome would really be no different than if they choose someone else.
Having a bike and having the logistics in place to support a team traveling all over the world are different things or at least it takes an order of magnitude more money to do the latter. Spending another year to build the team, develop the bike and find more sponsors may or may not be the best decision but it’s one they made. Surely with money as a prime consideration and a seemingly conservative approach is a reasonable one.
re: “Having a bike and having the logistics in place to support a team traveling all over the world are different things”
and there it is. I see exactly 2 motorcycles. 2 custom rolled motorcycles built with their bare hands. ironically that’s the same number produced by Jim Carducci and many others. McKayla Maroney’s not impressed.

Huh? Who?
Some context please.
Use the Google Luke.
So what are they going to do for a whole year until they allowed back in? Geez let them in already Dorna. Only will competing will they improve to the point of being competitive. Not sure DePruniet is the rider to take them to the top though.

how much time you got…?
