Current MotoGP champion Marc Marquez (Honda) broke his right fibula while riding a motorcycle on a dirt flat track yesterday.  Marquez has been told by his doctor that the break is not serious, but he is likely to miss the remainder of the pre-series tests at Sepang and Phillip Island.  Marquez says he should be healthy and ready to race at the opening round of the 2014 MotoGP championship at Qatar on March 23.

Luck always seems to be on the little blighters side, broken leg pre-season, vs Lorenzo/Rossi/Pedrosa mid season!! Go figure

Ducati is thinking to go to Open specification to be able to make more modifications on the fly, have more engines, different tires, etc.
It seems like a good deal (except for the software): what stops Honda and Yamaha to do the same, is the software more important that the sum of all the benefits?
    Does anyone know?

I believe that both Honda and Yamaha said “no dice” if they couldn’t run their own proprietary ECUs on the factory machines. That must be some pretty magical stuff if they believe that significantly more engines and fuel won’t threaten their dominance.

He’s young and tough, and at least he broke the fibula, not a weight bearing bone. He’s going to be ready and hungry. His first tests at Malaysia showed that he’s ready to dominate again.
and since he was awesome to fans on the Laguna paddock, I’m rooting for him again!

I don’t know why, but it’s hard to cheer the over dog but he has the talent and I wish him well

So…he is human and breakable. Wonder if this will affect his enthusiasm, I’ m guessing not.

he’s proved to be human and breakable many times through his career. As all champions before him, he is inhuman in his perseverance and grit.
