With weather alternating wet and dry, the Portimao round of the WSB championship saw points leader Tom Sykes (Kawasaki) victorious in Race 1, while Sylvain Guintoli (Aprilia) finished second and Loris Baz (Kawasaki) finished third.
Jonathan Rea (Honda) was the master of wet Race 2 and took the win ahead of the Ducati duo of Davide Giugliano and Chaz Davies.
Sykes took a conservative 8th place in Race 2 and leaves Portimao with a 43 point lead in the championship over Guintoli. For additional details, results and points visit the official WSB site.
The dry raced was entertaining too with 5 riders fighting for 3rd place on the podium. And they keep on saying Sykes right hand is hurt…HA, he ran away from the pack again!

meanwhile the Aprilia duo simply TOOK each other out… again.
good job guys. how’s that whole “inter-team rivalry” thing workin’ out for ya…?
Finally saw the races. Would have loved to hear inside Melandri’s helmet when he was taken out.
‘Talians… they don’t just talk with the hands, but CURSE with the hands. 🙂
