The first 450SX Class race held in Atlanta was on March 5, 1977. Bob Hannah won the race on a Yamaha.

This will be the 37^th time the gate will drop for a 450SX Class race in Atlanta.

The Atlanta supercross was held in the old Fulton County Stadium from ’77-’92.

In 1992, Yamaha’s Damon Bradshaw won the last ever 450SX Class race held at Fulton County Stadium.

In 1993, Bradshaw won the first-ever 450SX Class race held at the brand new Georgia Dome.

With Bradshaw winning the Atlanta Supercross from ’91-’93, he became the first rider to win Atlanta three-in-a-row times, Jeremy McGrath would follow with a three race win streak of his own in Atlanta from ’98-’00. Ricky Carmichael was the third and last rider to complete this feat, doing it from ’01-’03.

Nobody has won back-to-back 450SX Class races in Atlanta since Carmichael in ’05-’06.

In 2012, Ryan Dungey gave KTM their first 450SX Class victory in Atlanta. It was only KTM’s second 450SX Class win at the time.

Mark Barnett and Bradshaw won their last 450SX Class races in Atlanta.

Five riders have won the Atlanta supercross in both the 450SX and 250SX Classes. They are: Bradshaw, Carmichael, Chad Reed, James Stewart, and Dungey. Trey Canard, Justin Barcia, and Josh Grant are former 250SX Class Atlanta winners who could join this group with a 450SX Class victory in Atlanta.

Honda has not won Atlanta since Davi Millsaps in 2008. That race was Millsaps’ first career 450SX win.

KTM has won the previous two of three 450SX Class races in Atlanta, including in 2014. A brand has not won back-to-back in the 450SX Class race in Atlanta since Suzuki won in ’05-’06 with Carmichael.

McGrath and Carmichael are tied for the most 450SX Class wins in Atlanta with five-a-piece. Stewart, Bradshaw, Hannah, and Barnett all have three. Dungey is the only active 450SX Class rider with multiple Atlanta 450SX Class wins. Reed, Roczen, and Millsaps all have a single Atlanta victory.

There have been five 450SX Class riders to earn their first 450SX Class wins in Atlanta. They are: Hannah, Chuck Sun, Jeff Stanton, Damon Huffman, and Millsaps. Millsaps is the last rider to do this in 2008.

From ’98-’07 the winner of the 450SX Class race in Atlanta ended up winning the 450SX Class Championship that season. The same occurrence also happened from ’09-’11, but for the past three seasons the winner of the 450SX Class race in Atlanta has not won the 450SX Class Championship. In 36 overall Atlanta 450SX Class races, 21 of the winners went on to win the championship that season.

Dungey earned his 16^th career 450SX Class victory. He is now tied with Jean Michael-Bayle for 13^th on the all-time 450SX Class win list.

Dungey now has 78 top-five finishes in 90 career 450SX Class starts.

With Dungey’s victory he was able to give KTM their first ever 450SX Class victory in Dallas. It was also Dungey’s first win in Dallas since 2010 when he was on a Suzuki.

With Dungey’s podium, he was able to tie his career-best six race podium streak.

Can Dungey become the season’s first back-to-back winner? This season currently marks the second longest streak without having a back-to-back winner in the 450SX Class. This does not include the two seasons that there were zero back-to-back winners.

KTM now has 11 all-time 450SX Class wins. Nine of those victories are credited to Dungey.

With Musquin and Dungey both winning in Dallas, KTM now has three all-time race sweeps. This means the same brand won the 250SX and 450SX Classes at the same venue.

Ken Roczen rode to his 14^th career 450SX Class podium in his 28^th 450SX Class start. He now has five podiums on the season.

After two straight runner-up finishes can Roczen earn his first win since the second Anaheim? He sits second in the Championship Standings just 12 points behind Dungey.

Canard finished third in his 50^th career 450SX Class start. It was his 17^th career 450SX Class podium.

The top three riders have slowly begun to separate themselves from the rest of the pack. Roczen, Dungey, and Canard have made up the podium for two straight races and only once have at least two of them not been on the podium together.

Can Canard, Dungey, or Roczen become the first three-time winners of the season? Canard needs it more than both riders, currently being down 23 points to Dungey. Can he start chipping away at the points lead in Atlanta (where he earned his first career 250SX Class victory in 2008)?

Blake Baggett earned his career best 450SX Class finish with a fourth place. He now has five straight top-10 finishes on the season.

Blake Baggett is still looking for his first career 450SX Class podium. He has improved or stayed the same in each race since the second Anaheim. Is Atlanta where he can finally get on the box?

Andrew Short rode his way to his second top-five finish of the season with a fifth place. The race was his 114^th career 450SX Class start.

Jason Anderson earned his seventh career 450SX Class top-10 finish in his seventh career 450SX Class start with a sixth. Anderson and Dungey are the only riders to have a top-10 finish in every 450SX Class race this season.

Anderson is still sitting in the top-five of the points and is leading all 450SX Class rookies in the championship standings. After outstanding 250SX Class careers, who will get their first 450SX Class victory between Anderson, Baggett, and Cole Seely?

Eli Tomac finished seventh place in Dallas for his 15^th career top-10 finish in only 20 career 450SX Class starts. He broke his five race top-five streak but still has a six race top-10 streak on the season.

Tomac is now on the outside looking in after three straight descending finishes. With plenty of races left in the season, can he salvage some points and rack up a few victories? He looked dominant in his early season Phoenix victory.

Grant earned an eighth place finish for his first top-10 finish of the season.

Broc Tickle finished ninth place in his 48^th career 450SX Class start. He now has 29 career 450SX Class top-10 finishes.

Seely earned his 10^th career 450SX Class top-10 finish with a 10^th place. The race was his 18^th career 450SX Class start. He now has five straight top-10 finishes

Chad Reed made his 177^th career 450SX Class start and finished 11^th.

Nick Wey made his 174^th career 450SX Class start, passing McGrath for fifth on the all-time 450SX Class starts list.

250SX Class: Atlanta Stats

The first 250SX Class race held in Atlanta was on February 23, 1985. Eddie Warren won on a Kawasaki.

This will be the 29th time the gate will drop for a 250SX Class race in Atlanta.

Brian Swink won the last 250SX Class race at the old Fulton County Stadium in 1992. Doug Henry won the first 250SX Class race at the brand new Georgia Dome in 1993.

A Kawasaki or Honda has won every 250SX Class race in Atlanta since 2008. Kawasaki has four victories and Honda has three in that time span.

Yamaha won five straight 250SX Class races in Atlanta from ’99-’03 and have not won since that streak. That is 11 straight seasons without a 250SX Class win in Atlanta.

Suzuki has not won in the 250SX Class in Atlanta since 2007, when Dungey crossed the finish line first. Suzuki has only won two races in the 250SX Class in Atlanta since the series moved from the old Fulton County Stadium to the Georgia Dome.

There have only been three riders to win back-to-back 250SX Class races in Atlanta. The last time it happened was Christophe Pourcel from ’09-’10. Carmichael from ’97-’98 and Swink from ’91-’92 are the other two riders to accomplish this feat.

There have been three first time winners in the past four 250SX Class races in Atlanta. Martin Davalos became the 12^th rider to earn his first 250SX Class win in Atlanta in 2014, Wil Hahn rode to his first career 250SX Class win in 2013 in Atlanta, and Dean Wilson won his first 250SX Class race in 2011 in Atlanta. There were three other first time winners in the 250SX Class in Atlanta in the ’00’s also: Grant in ’06, Dungey in ’07, and Canard in ’08.

Carmichael also earned his first career 250SX Class victory in Atlanta in ’97. Other riders to win their first 250SX Class race in Atlanta include: Warren in ’85, Turpin in ’86, Denny Stephenson in ’90, Henry in ’93, and John Dowd in ’96.

KTM has never won a 250SX Class race in Atlanta.

Marvin Musquin earned his fifth career 250SX Class victory and his first 250SX Class victory since Minnesota 2013.

After his victory, Musquin now has 20 250SX Class starts. In those starts Musquin has five victories and 12 podiums.

Can Musquin start the Eastern Regional 250SX Class season off with two straight victories?

KTM earned their first 250SX Class win in Dallas since Grant Langson in 2001. The win was also KTM’s first ever Eastern Regional 250SX Class opening race victory.

KTM now has 24 all-time 250SX Class victories.

With Jessy Nelson and Musquin, KTM has now won the first race of both the Western Regional 250SX Class and Eastern Regional Class. This is the first time KTM has ever done this.

Justin Bogle earned his 10^th career 250SX Class podium with a runner-up finish. He now has 13 top-five finishes in 18 career 250SX Class races.

The defending Eastern Regional 250SX Class champion Bogle looked strong in Arlington. Does he have the speed to beat Musquin and regain the red plate? Last season he didn’t need victories but rather solid podium and top-five finishes to get the championship. Was Dallas the first of many more podiums to come?

Joey Savatgy finished third in Dallas for his first career 250SX Class podium. He does have seven top-10 finishes in nine career 250SX Class starts however.

In his 13^th career 250SX Class start, Jeremy Martin earned his eighth career 250SX Class top-five finish with a fourth place finish. He now has 10 top-10 finishes in those starts.

Matt Lemoine finished fifth in Dallas. It was 10^th career 250SX Class top-five finish in 53 career 250SX Class starts. He also now has 33 career 250SX Class top-10 finishes.

Vince Friese made his 41^st career 250SX Class start in Dallas and was able to pull out his 23^rd career 250SX Class top-10 finish with a sixth place.

RJ Hampshire rode to his first career 250SX Class top-10 finish with a seventh place in his first career 250SX Class start.

Arnaud Tonus, another rider making his first career 250SX Class start, was also able to earn his first career 250SX Class top-10 finish with an eighth place.

Pro-Circuit Kawasaki has yet to get a win so far this season. Can Savatgy or Tonus breakthrough for a win for the previously unbeatable Kawasaki team?

Martin Davalos was able to work through the field for a ninth place finish. It was his 44^th career 250SX Class top-10 finish in his 65^th 250SX Class start.

Davalos will be looking to solidify his position as one of the most consistent and fastest riders in the Eastern Regional 250SX Class in Atlanta. He wrecked on the first lap in Dallas but was able to salvage a top-10 finish still. Can Davalos dig himself out of what is already a 13 point hole to opening race victor Musquin?

Kyle Peters finished 10^th place in Dallas. It was his 18^th career 250SX Class start and he now has a solid seven career 250SX Class top-10 finishes.
