Honda’s Ricky Carmichael won his eleventh supercross of the year in Las Vegas last night. Carmichael repeated as 250 supercross champion last week, when he gained enough points to clinch the title one round early. The Kawasaki of Ezra Lusk finished second last evening, while Yamaha’s David Vuillemin finished third.
While the 250 race was anti-climactic, the 125 East/West Shootout became the highlight of the evening. The two favorites, Kawasaki’s James Stewart and Yamaha of Troy’s Chad Reed, finished in first and second place, respectively. Stewart got out front early, while Reed worked his way into second place in the middle of the race. Reed closed on Stewart slightly, and the two young stars posted similar lap times.
