ZX-10R Barcelona Launch Video Provides Insights From Rea and Sykes

011516top-i

With two World champions on its team, Kawasaki seems ready for the 2016 WSB championship series. Both Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes have set a blistering pace during early “shakedown” testing of their all-new superbike platform, derived from the 2016 Kawasaki ZX-10R. The video below was just published by Kawasaki and it includes highlights from the unveiling of the new production superbike in Barcelona last Fall. The comments from the two riders, particularly Jonathan Rea, about the potential of the new bike are an ominous warning to Kawasaki’s WSB competitors. Have a look.

total click bait. not that you needed this as i’m a good one for coming here anyway, but it worked.

  2. Foster says:

Without beautiful women to look at, you might as well be dead! Guys that complain about this must have been severely warped by religious zealot parents in their youth. Otherwise, there’s no rational explanation for their narrow view.

  3. Tank says:

Can’t wait for the naked version.

  4. Tank says:

Nice looking, but I would like to see a naked version.

  5. Will Parker says:

I’m sure the Bike performance is fantastic, those riders are amazing as well, but geez this thing looks like an oil tanker compared to its rivals.

  6. Silver says:

I just LOVE how the manufacturers are employing such fast riders to help develop their bikes

  7. old guy says:

Delicious! The bike is nice too! No women or men were offended when a certain soccer hunk was pictured on the new TRIUMPH!

  8. old guy says:

DELICIOUS! And the bike is nice too!

  9. Tim says:

So what on Earth do two leather clad attractive women have to do with this story? On second thought, who cares? Personally, I think the lead in photo is great.

  10. TimC says:

UH Can we have a relevant pic instead of this sleaze please?

    “IT’S A LOT LIKE LIFE”

    WTF.

    • Wendy says:

      Amen!

    • Lynchenstein says:

Easy there Tim. Since when has motorcycling ever been puritanical? Let’s not start now please.

      • TimC says:

I’m no puritan, I’m just saying this is really gratuitous/unnecessary. The article is about a bike but the picture has nothing to do with it.

The fact that it’s not just cheesecake but light BDSM slant is just kind of extra irony (as hinted at in my DM quote).

    • Gutterslob says:

I thought those nice ladies were Rae and Sykes.

  11. Clumseyfingers says:

Rats. Here I thought we had a couple of beautiful chicks riding Kawis.

  12. jonnyblaze says:

    Parallel twins

  13. Rennie says:

    Thanks for the lovelies.

Now a bit more info on the bikes and track times please.

  14. jimmihaffa says:

Skip the chicks and tell us something technical about the motorcycle design and engineering.

    • Dirck Edge says:

It’s just a screen shot from the video. I’ll replace it with a screen shot of something else (of the riders?) if enough people are offended. The information won’t change, and it is all there – one link to testing results, including lap times, and another link to all the details on the new production bike. The video itself offers some feedback from the riders, which some readers will find interesting.

      • MGNorge says:

I for one find no offense in the photos at all, they’re just pretty ladies. Part of life, part of motorcycling and all forms of motorsports.

      • Tim says:

It’s the best form of art. It’s God’s art. As beautiful as a lot of bikes are, they are nothing compared to God’s art. Don’t cave to the pressure, Dirck.

      • Kagato says:

No offense felt : – ) they are wearing Ninja necklaces–that ought to suffice!

      • NRHRetro says:

Not offensive in the least! Nothing wrong with the pictures, I’ve seen worse in the grocery store. Anyone whom is offended can try this one simple trick…..SCROLL DOWN, it goes away. Definitely no need to cater to small minds and remove them.

      • jimmihaffa says:

Sorry, Dirck. I wasn’t really addressing your work on the article. We’re all here because we love motorcycles and the quality reporting and coverage your site provides. Actually, I was hoping Kawasaki might show off some of the technical aspects of the bike. I’d rather see the cutaway of the Kawasaki quick shift transmission than the cutaway of the chicks braziers is all I’m saying. To your point though, I did like hearing the feedback from riders’ and crew.

  15. Butch says:

Love those push ups only my arms aren’t as strong as they once were . . . . . .

  16. mickey says:

Rea and Sykes are better looking than I thought if that’s them in the photo.

  17. WJF says:

Amongst other things, can’t help but stare at the buckles on their outfits….

  18. Bob says:

    Amazing women.

  19. Trent says:

    Very nice! 🙂
