• High Point Raceway will celebrate 40 years of hosting the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship on Saturday. It made its debut on the championship schedule in 1977 and has become one of the sport’s most legendary venues.
• The Red Bull High Point National can be considered the home race of Pro Motocross, with series organizers MX Sports Pro Racing headquartered 15 miles away in Morgantown, West Virginia.
• Last season High Point earned the distinction of hosting the most international winners in Pro Motocross history, with a total of eight across both the 450 Class and 250 Class.
• The Red Bull High Point National will serve as the network television premiere of Pro Motocross on NBC for the 2016 season, reaching millions of homes across the country.

• The first Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship race held at High Point was on May 29, 1977. Tony DiStefano, who hails from Morrisville, Pennsylvania, won on a Suzuki. It was the last win of his career and carried him to a third 450 Class title.
• Ricky Carmichael’s eight combined wins at High Point (450 Class & 250 Class) is double that of any other rider in history. He earned his six 450 Class wins consecutively from ‘02-‘07.
• High Point has not had a back-to-back 450 Class winner in nine seasons. Ken Roczen will look to become just the fifth rider in High Point history to win in consecutive years.
• Roczen’s victory at High Point last season was his lone overall win of 2015. It was the least amount of wins during a full season title defense since Greg Albertyn went winless defending his championship during the 2000 season.
• Suzuki is the winningest brand in the 450 Class in High Point history with 12 wins, including six wins over the past decade and back-to-back wins entering this season.
• High Point was the site of James Stewart’s most recent Pro Motocross victory in 2014.
• Chad Reed is the only rider in Pro Motocross history to get his first career wins in both the 450 Class and 250 Class at High Point. They came seven years apart.
• In 39 seasons of racing at High Point, the winner has gone on to win the title 20 times (51%), including six in-a-row from ’08-’13.
• Four of Damon Bradshaw’s six career 450 Class wins came at High Point, including his first and last.
