Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi, despite his recent motocross accident, rode in both practice sessions earlier today. Rossi completed a total of 34 laps, but did not appear to be pushing hard – ending both sessions outside the top 10. It is clear Rossi is still experiencing some pain, but looks prepared to participate throughout the weekend, including Sunday’s race. Look for Mugello qualifying and race reports here on MD this weekend.

Rossi went top in Free Practice 3. That old sandbagger! How will he do in Q2? In the afternoon heat I’m going to predict row.
Wrong👎 Front row for the old goat👍🏁
His home crowd. He’ll try his best.
Man, the off-weekends are TOUGH!
Great to see racing again. Great shot of VR46, and great to see him return. Damn, that helmet is sweet.

TIME FOR “JELLO”…!!! tickets have been sold and Ezpelata’s yacht payment is in the post. the man’s gotta make a showing, even if if his whole race amounts to “parade laps”. he’d better wrap his chest up with the ace bandages till he looks like a MUMMY, cause everybody knows this straight is good for what, 217 MPH…? it’s not gonna be be fun braking in to T1.
While it’s not reported whether he’s having fun or not, his qualifying result is anything but a parade lap
