Although Jonathan Rea has already clinched a record-setting third consecutive WSB title this year, the final round in Qatar this weekend is still important for a couple of reasons.
First, Rea has a chance to break the record for the most points scored in a WSB season set by Colin Edwards back in 2002. Rea can accomplish this with a double victory this weekend. In the process, Rea could break his personal record for race wins during a season (currently 14).
Finally, although Kawasaki has taken the manufacturer’s crown this year, Rea’s teammate Tom Sykes arrives in Qatar tied on points with Ducati’s Chaz Davies. The fight for second place in the championship standings will be an interesting sub-plot this weekend. Stayed tuned for coverage on MD.

My prediction, Rea wins just one race, and Davies gets more points than Sykes.
