Corona, Calif. (February 28, 2018) – The Eastern Regional 250SX duo of Austin Forkner and Martin Davalos will line up for the first time inside the all-new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. After a good run for the team inside the Georgia Dome – former home of Atlanta’s race – Forkner is set to go after back-to-back wins, while Davalos is eyeing his first podium finish of the young Eastern Region season.
Forkner had an explosive night in Tampa, collecting his first-ever supercross win after leading nearly every lap. He proved he is ready to battle for the championship and would love nothing more than putting his Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki KX250F on top of the podium once again.
“It was a really good night and I felt like I was riding to my full potential,” said Forkner. “There were plenty of times I’ve felt good enough to win, but something would keep me from it. It was nice to put it all together. Makes all that hard work we did getting ready to make it to the line for Dallas worth it. We’ll just keep our focus on being consistent and running up front.”
Davalos bounced back in Tampa to score a top five finish, but is hungry to get back on the podium. The Ecuadorian has 21 podium finishes to his credit and would love to add to that number this weekend in Atlanta.
“I love racing in Georgia,” said Davalos. “I spent so much time riding in the Georgia clay and have fun every time I come back. It would be awesome to get that first podium this weekend.”
Prior to Saturday’s race, the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki riders will be signing autographs on Friday, March 2 from 6 – 7 p.m. at Mountain Motorsports Marietta location.
