The second part of this weekend’s AMA Superbike double header at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama went off today, and it was another tick mark on Mat Mladin’s (Suzuki) “Dominate the 2005 Championship” checklist. Mladin took the lead on the first lap and never relinquished it, eventually crossing the line 9.74 seconds ahead of second-place Neil Hodgson (Ducati). Ben Spies (Suzuki) was third to round out the podium.
Having won every race so far this season, Mladin holds a commanding lead in the championship with 113 points. Neil Hodgson holds second with 91 points.
