Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) won his sixth (of seven) MotoGP race this season at Assen, Holland. Young Marco Melandri (Honda) was Rossi’s closest competitor today, having led the first half of the race before Rossi went by. Melandri hung tight to finish a close second. Finishing third was Rossi’s teammate, Colin Edwards.
