Suzuki’s Ricky Carmichael dominated tonight’s AMA Supercross in Indianapolis, starting in second place, taking the lead from Ernesto Fonseca (Honda) on Lap Two, and cruising to an easy win. James Stewart (Kawasaki) recovered from a first turn crash that left him in last place, tearing through the field to finish in second position, just three seconds behind Carmichael. Chad Reed (Yamaha) took third, another ten seconds back.
In the Supercross Lites class, it was Davi Millsaps (Honda) who came away with the win, coming out on top of an early-race battle with Josh Grant (Honda). Grant finished in second, despite a mid-race crash. Third place went to Kawasaki’s Chris Gosselaar.
Chad Reed still owns the Supercross class points lead, but just barely – he ended the night with 191 points to Carmichael’s 190. Millsaps has a big lead in the Lites class points race, with 72 points to second-place Chris Gosselaar’s 54.
