Suzuki’s Ricky Carmichael took the Motocross class overall win today at the Mt. Morris round of the AMA Outdoor National MX series, taking wins in both motos along the way. Yamaha’s Chad Reed went 2-2 for second overall, and Honda’s Davi Millsaps went 3-3 for third overall. Kawasaki’s James Stewart crashed out of a battle for the lead near the end of the second moto, leaving him with a DNF in Moto 1 and a DNS in Moto 2.
In the Lites class, it was Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto taking the win with a 2-1 moto finish. Honda’s Josh Grant was second overall, and KTM’s Mike Alessi was third.
Stewart’s crash leaves Carmichael with a significant points lead in the Motocross class, with 95 points to Chad Reed’s 86. Alessi leads the Lites class points with 88 points to second-place Villopoto’s 80.
