U.S. Open Night One Results

Kawasaki’s James Stewart dominated Race One of the two-night U.S. Open tonight in Las Vegas, taking the Superpole and the holeshot on his way to a main-event win. After sliding out in the first turn and remounting nearly last, Ricky Carmichael (Suzuki) charged through the field to finish in second place, over 12 seconds behind Stewart. Third place went to Honda’s Kevin Windham, who held second place until being passed by Carmichael a few laps before the finish.

In the Lites class, Josh Grant (Honda) took the win over Kawasaki’s Chris Gosselaar, with Justin Brayton (Yamaha) in third.

The U.S. Open continues tomorrow night, with the riders racing the same track again, but this time in reverse.
