The opening round of the WSB championship was held yesterday at Phillip Island, Australia. In race one, Leon Haslam (Suzuki) took the win ahead of second place Michel Fabrizio (Ducati) and third place Noriyuki Haga (Ducati). Carlos Checa (Ducati) won race two with Haslam finishing second and Fabrizio finishing third. Haslam has the series points lead.
