Argentinian WSB Results (all 3 races)

Race 2 podium in Argentina

Some controversy surrounded Race 1 in Argentina this weekend as several riders refused to line up for the start as they considered the track too dangerous. With just a dozen riders competing, Alvaro Bautista (Ducati) took the win over champ Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki) in second and Toprak Razgatlioglu (Kawasaki) in third.

Rea came back to win both the Superpole sprint and Race 2. Bautista and Razgatlioglu finished second and third in the Superpole race, while Chaz Davies (Ducati) and Razgatlioglu finished second and third in Race 2.

As MD reported earlier, Rea has already clinched this year’s title. Interestingly, Bautista took his 16th win of the year in Argentina – likely a record for a rider who did not win the championship.

The best part of a WSBK weekend is the Supersport race, especially when the tires go off with 5 laps to go.

I used to feel the same way about Moto2. Those bikes must’ve been really easy to ride because guys did just crazy stuff on them.

At least there are still two people who care.

Three, I guess, somebody posted the story.

I agree. Fantastic racing but a little confusing.

I’m starting to feel like WSBK’s format needs an overhaul. Two races, plus the “Superpole” race? It’s confusing, and with so many “races” in the year, it diminishes their importance. I know they want to offer as much entertainment as possible, but that’s what the support classes are for.
