TV Coverage of 2020 MotoGP Events

After numerous Covid-19-related delays and schedule changes, we now have a MotoGP race schedule that begins on July 19 at the Jerez Circuit in Spain (see below). At this point, the events will go forward without fans present, so how do you watch the races on television/computer streaming?

In the United States, NBC has exclusive rights to broadcast MotoGP racing, primarily on the NBC Sports Network. If you have cable, you can purchase this channel directly, or in a package deal. Without cable, you have several other options.

NBCSN can be found on Hulu Plus, YouTube TV and other streaming sources, all for a fee of course. For example, Hulu Plus and YouTube TV each include NBCSN in their respective base packages, priced at $54.99/mo. and $64.99/mo., respectively. Several of these services provide free trial periods, which you will have to research on your own. Many of these non-cable options are described in an article we found here.

Here is the current NBCSN schedule for 2020 races (the reference to the first race in Qatar is for a Moto2 event – MotoGP did not occur at that circuit):

Of course, MotoGP.com still has its comprehensive Video Pass coverage, including races, practice sessions, qualifying and press conferences related to all 3 classifications, MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3. Information on purchasing the 2020 MotoGP Video Pass can be found here.

In other countries outside the United States, MotoGP coverage is likely handled by a different broadcaster. A summary of those broadcasters, by country, can be found on Wikipedia.

Will there be any coverage of the Moto2 and Moto3 races in the USA this year ?

  2. warprints says:

Sure wish BeIn Sports still carried all the bike racing in the US. Whatever. Will be watching on NBCSN.

  3. Dylan says:

Twice the cost of F1? And F1 offered a reduced rate due to abbreviated season. That said at least theres racing!! Excited. & Great info…

  4. skortch says:

Great to have some good news! Some racing is better than no racing. Given all the shuffling of team lineups it will be fun to see how it all pans out.
