On a partially wet track, Pol Espargaro (KTM) earned pole position for tomorrow’s MotoGP race at Valencia. Also on the front row tomorrow will be Alex Rins (Suzuki) and Takaaki Nakagami (Honda). Points leader Joan Mir (Suzuki) qualified in 5th position on the second row.
For full qualifying results, take a look here. The weather report indicates tomorrow’s race should be dry, although there is a slight chance of rain. Stay tuned for race coverage on MD tomorrow.
I’m really pulling for Taka Nakagami for the win, starting on the front row (again). Felt so bad for him two weeks ago when he started from pole and crashed in the second corner on the very first lap. With only three races to go, and 8 different winners through 11 races, might as well go for 9. It’d be the first win for Honda in some time, given #93’s absence. Nice to have a non-Spaniard or Italian on the podium for a change. Gives Japanese riders a boost. Plus, Taka has the best looking bike IMHO. Why not.
Oh, and one more thing… I think the commentators love saying his name as much as I love hearing them say it: Taka Nakagami. Taaakaaaa Naaakaaagami. Love it.
Never mind that I’m a fan of Marc and Alex, I do hope the two wheeled gods will show a little kindness to The Doctor. The poor man has had a couple of rough weeks.
Pol poles a pumpkin! Gotta like it! KTM is about the only company that I buy bikes from anymore.
On my birthday no less.
